SISTERS
2015 | 37 x 49 cm
IN A PRIVATE COLLECTION
Mixed media painting by Lennart Pihl. Four notepad pages taped together and glued to a white sheet of acrylic glass. Acrylic paint has been used to create the painting.
The image depicts three women as archetypical sisters. In the middle is the oldest of the three, the authority figure, the diplomat, the experienced one. On her right is the middle sister as the brains of the group, distrustful and somewhat distant. To the left of the leader, further back is the distracted youngest sister, the beautiful but naïve extravert. They are surrounded by a fence of crystals symbolizing purity through a homogenous material. Though beautiful, the crystals morph light and skew the reality behind them, showing only hints of an unseen world behind them.
The painting “SISTERS” has never been to an exhibition.
