Mixed media painting by Lennart Pihl. Recycled PVC advertisement framed with aluminum profile. Created using various spray, latex and acrylic paints, as well as some montage glue and printer ink.

The image depicts a holy site, a crooked oak tree without leaves on a floating stump of an island in a marsh. Around the oak tree are spirits of the forest standing in the rain, defending the oak and it’s roots from evil trespassers who might want to cut down the tree for it’s beautiful curls.

The painting “OAK” is part of a three piece series with “SPRUCE” and “PINE”. It has only been to a single exhibition.
