”NURTURE” is an oil painting on a furniture board created by Lennart Pihl.

The image depicts a fantastic flower blossoming in dry and sandy soil. There’s a mound of dirt around the flower indicating human involvement.

The concept comes from an unfinished comic book by Lennart Pihl. Protagonists of the story live in a post-apocalyptic world and strategically plant various genetically altered flowers to bring the once green planet back to life. The growth of the flowers was then accelerated with a special substance. The world the action takes place in overlaps “POSTAPOC”/“LAGE” and “SENTIENT” Universe.

The painting was created as a cover image for the comic book. After digitization the original was gifted to the authors sister.

The painting “NURTURE” has not been to any exhibitions.
