It was my mother who directed me towards creative fields, and that's where I feel most comfortable. From my engineer father, I inherited curiosity about how things work. In my youth, I tried various hobbies, from weightlifting, judo, and marksmanship to folk dancing, ceramics, and painting.
My parents had to endure my restlessness and constantly shuffle me from one activity to another. My interest in the world around me has, in turn, given me the opportunity to see different facets of life, and these experiences come together on the canvas.
Painting is like everything else in life: you have a canvas, paint, tools like brushes or a palette. Where these items come from may play a role in the development or the project. Still, picking up a brush is only one of the first small steps one must take in order to begin a journey. You may have a vision, a plan, a path to what should be the end result. Every stroke is like a memory of a choice made, a mark of experience. You lay layer after layer on top of the last, hoping to hide past mistakes while moving towards your end goal, but instead you must carry on and use these seemingly accidental strokes to your advantage, adapting with the changing picture, the surroundings. You mustn't be discouraged by the process, even if the journey takes you onto a path you did not foresee.
You start off painting some flowers in a pot, but end up with a moose dancing on the moon.
Painting taught me to pay attention to the end result rather than the tools, method or the original plan.
